Staff exchange between PEER centres a focal point for the future

21 June 2010, PEER

The PEER centres are forming a joint staff exchange programme in order to facilitate joint working, knowledge exchange, dissemination of best practices and collaboration at all levels between the centres. The development of collaboration between the centres has been substantial in the past years but at the same time a top-down approach has to be strengthened with bottom-up initiatives from the researchers at the work floor. Staff exchange is one way of achieving this goal.

CEH has prepared a first draft of general issues to be considered financially and legally. Since the details of the contracts will vary from case to case, there is also a need for practical measures to facilitate actual staff exchange. They will involve the formation of a PEER HR-network, listing of existing common projects in FP7 and joint PEER projects, development of fact sheets for staff mobility and development of the Opportunities section of the PEER website.
