This paper has recently gained high visibility e.g. through the journal Nature. The paper emphasizes that 1) such solutions need to be developed and implemented in relation to existing concepts to clarify their added value; 2) the strength of the concept is its integrative, systemic and active approach, providing opportunities for transdisciplinary research in the design and implementation of solutions based on nature, and for overcoming narrow focus on short-term economic gains and effectiveness.

"The science, policy and practice of nature-based solutions: An interdisciplinary perspectiv" by Nesshöver, C. et al. was published in the Science of the Total Environment.
