Short technical description:

The facility comprises a total area of 11 ha. containing experimental ditches, ponds, microcosms, lysiemeters, and approximately 7 ha. of arable land/natural grass land. The facility can operate under the requirements of Good Laboratory Practise and can rely on the analytical support of the GLP certified residue laboratory of the Environmental Risk Assessment team of Alterra.

Specific features/uniqueness:

De Sinderhoeve contains a large number and variety of test systems suitable for a large scale of research questions ranging from aquatic fate, (in)vertebrates, and plants to comparable questions in the terrestrial environment. In addition, the space available is such that for specific research requirements also new systems can be constructed.

Available for external parties, applications will be reviewed on an individual basis.

Unit Cost of use and principles of costing:

Conditions for use will be determined on case-by-case basis and will depend for instance on the type of project (e.g., in house/external/PhD/commercial), research requirements, and type of cooperation desired.
