PEER network seminar on ML/AI in Environmental sciences

The institutions within the PEER network share a common interest in environmental research. This shared focus means that many researchers within the network use similar approaches. Recognizing this, the PEER network has decided to organize a seminar series on the use of Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in environmental research. The goal of this seminar series is to showcase the diversity of applications for ML/AI in environmental research and provide a platform for like-minded individuals to share ideas and explore potential collaborations.

The first seminar in this series will focus on introducing ML/AI in the context of Environmental Sciences, providing a broad overview of the various problems and approaches that are common in this field. Following this, researchers from different institutions will present their ML/AI research on remote sensing applications. The second seminar will introduce a wider spectrum of research in environmental sciences, such as the analysis of texts related to environmental politics using Natural Language Processing (NLP), and the use of ML models for predicting pollution.
