One of the major aims of the Partnership for European Environmental Research is to develop and carry out collaborative research projects of European dimension, together with research partners across Europe. Many of these are in consortia with other cross european institutes and some have been initiated by PEER, with member institutions of PEER playing a leading role in them.

PEER as a network excels in the research on the biophysical and socio-ecological impacts linked to the implementation of the SDGs and the associated risks, and is therefore well-positioned to consolidate and advance this area. This is clearly demonstrated in the PEER TRISD project: Tackling and managing risks with SDGs.
