Towards a strategy for open data access in PEER – Challenges, Methods and Tools
17 October 2016, JRC
Considering the European Commission's policy of open access to research data and the general trend to improve accessibility of research data, the Joint Research Centre (JRC) is organising an open data PEER workshop which aims to help develop a common strategy and guidelines for data provision by the PEER partners. The workshop will be held in the JRC headquarters in Brussels from 17-18 October 2016.
This workshop aims to discover and exchange information on the kind of efforts already being undertaken in the different PEER centres. It will bring together experts engaged in all kinds of work that aims to facilitate open data access and improved use and management of data.
The outcome could be a virtual PEER infrastructure for data in environmental research. The workshop will be the first and indispensable step to find out whether the vision for such a virtual PEER infrastructure could be actualised, and what the necessary steps in this direction are.
Participation in the workshop is by invitation only.
